9/11 Memorial
At 8:48 am, September 11 2017 Police Chief Smith and Fire Chief Wright instituted the 1st Annual 9/11 Memorial/Tribure at the Tom Bevill Enrichment Center in Rainsville. First responders attended a memorial service for those that died in the tragic events that occurred 16 years. The time of the event coincided with the time the first plane hit the World Trade Center South Tower on September 11, 2001. Members of the Rainsville Police Department, Rainsville Fire Department, DeKalb County Ambulance Service, and the DeKalb Sheriff’s Office, Sylvania Police Department, Powell Police Department, as well as several other First Responders from the surrounding community were in attendance. The of procession of emergency vehicles started at the Rainsville Fire Hall on Circle Drive NW and traveled down down Main Street West Ending at the Tom Bevill Enrichment Center were Dekalb County Sheriffs Department Color Guard presented the Colors ceremony.
