Rainsville Police Department

The Rainsville Police Department Reserve Unit was organized in 2017 under Cheif Smith.  The Reserve Unit functions to enhance operations of Police Department by providing additional officers at no extra cost to the city. The reserves are a vital part of the department. There are currently seven reserve officers in the unit. The reserve officers perform the same functions as full time officers. They not only volunteer their time to the community, but they also provide all of their own gear and equipment. They also have to submit to and physical fitness tests bi-annually and must maintain APOST physical standards, as well and firearms qualification.
